How to Bold in Discord

How to Bold in Discord

As a Discord user, you may have noticed that some of your fellow users are able to bold their text in their messages, but you may be wondering how they are doing it. Well, I'm here to explain it to you.

Discord uses a simplified version of Markdown for formatting, and bolding text is quite simple. All you have to do is to enclose the text you want to bold between two pairs of asterisks. For example:

mathematicaCopy code**Bold Text**

Once you've entered the text between the asterisks, just press the enter key, and voila! Your text will be bolded.

Italics and other formatting options in Discord also work similarly. Here are the most common formatting options using Markdown in Discord:

  • For italics, enclose your text between a pair of single asterisks, like this: Italic Text
  • For bold, enclose your text between two pairs of asterisks, like this: Bold Text
  • For bold italics, enclose your text between two sets of three asterisks, like this: Bold Italic Text

In addition to these formatting options, you can also use underlining and strikethrough. For underlining, use two underscores, like this: Underline Text. For strikethrough, use two tildes, like this: Strikethrough Text.
